 ILCA 7 - Master World Championship 2023 - Varuna THA - Final results With winds of up to 15 knots, the final day saw the freshest winds of the Master World Championships, and two races each were sailed again. ----- The new World Champions won their classifications: Keerati Bualong THA finished 1st in the Apprentice (+35). ----- Adonis Bougiouris GRE took the title in the Masters (45+) ahead of Christoph Bottoni SUI/AUS. In the Grand Masters (55+), Brett Beyer AUS won 9 of the 12 races, while Beat Heinz SUI did not compete and dropped back to 19th place. ----- In the Great Grand Masters (65+), Tim Law GBR was the clear winner. ----- All rankings and the report.

ILCA 7 - Master World Championship 2023 - Varuna THA - Day 5

Moderate 10-12 knots of wind ensured optimal conditions also on the 5th day of the Master's World Championships. Before today's final races - there are 2 more heats on the program - the title decisions seem to be made, as the leaders of the individual categories are all more than 10 points ahead. Christoph Bottoni AUS/SUI should also have his silver medal in the Master's category safe, the title goes to Adonis Bougiouris GRE. In the Grand Master ranking, Beat Heinz SUI held on to 10th place. After the rest day, the races continued yesterday in a 10-12kn wind with two races each. ----- In the Masters, Adonis Bougiouris GRE had to admit defeat for the first time after 7 race wins: Christoph Bottoni AUS/SUI displaced the Greek to 2nd place and thus further consolidated his 2nd place overall. ----- Despite an early start, Beat Heinz SUI made it to 10th place in the Grand Masters, and Markus Ochs SUI is still 15th. ----- In the Great Grand Masters, Tim Law GBR continues to dominate, followed in 15th place by Bruno Peyron FRA, former record holder of the Trophée Jules Verne with his trimaran 'Orange'. ----- All rankings and the daily report.

 ILCA 7 - Master World Championship 2023 - Varuna THA - Day 4 Yesterday was a rest day in Varuna, from today the decisive phase begins, the races are already underway. In most age categories, however, the titles seem to have been awarded already - the rankings. Christoph Bottoni, the 2008 Swiss Olympian who now lives in Australia, is on course for silver in the Masters, while Beat Heinz SUI and Markus Ochs SUI still have a chance of making the top ten in the Grand Masters.  ILCA 7 - Master World Championship 2023 - Varuna THA - Day 3 Dream conditions also yesterday in Thailand, with little change in the rankings. ----- Keerati Buralong THA leads the Apprentice class (5 races/6 wins), as does Adonis Bougiouris GRE in the Masters (6 races/6 wins). Christoph Bottoni AUS/SUI is in 2nd place with five 2nd places. ----- Brett Beyer AUS has won all races so far in the Grand Masters, Christoph Marsano AUT follows in 5th place, Beat Heinz SUI managed his best race up to now with a 5th place, moving up to 12th. Yesterday, moderate winds prevailed in Pattaya, where two aditional races were sailed in 8-12 knots. ----- In the Apprentice classification, Keerlai Bualong THA continues to lead ahead of Adil Khalid UAE, both with Olympic experience. ----- The two leaders in the Master ranking did participate in the Olympics as well: Adonnis Bougiouris GRE won all 4 races so far, and Christoph Bottoni SUI/AUS was second four times. ----- Brett Beyer AUS leads the Grand Master ranking with four race wins. Beat Heinz SUI and Markus Ochs SUI follow in 14th and 15th place. ----- Tim Law GBR continues to lead clearly in the Great Grand Masters. ----- All rankings and the daily report.

The ILCA 7 Masters World Championships started yesterday in Thailand, with two races sailed in 12-15kn. Keerati Bualong THA won both races of the Apprentice (+35), Adonis Bougiouris GRE, also two race wins, leads the Masters classification (45+), followed in second place by Christoph Bottoni SUI/AUS, who now lives in Australia. In the Grand Master (55+) fleet, Brett Beyer AUS took the lead. Markus Ochs SUI and Beat Heinz SUI follow in 13th and 14th place and in the Great Grand Master (65+) Tim Law GBR is in the lead. Today's racing is already underway and results should be available on the event website before midday.

ILCA 6 - Master World Championship 2023 - Varuna THA - Final results

The ILCA 6 Masters World Championships ended yesterday in Thailand with two races in light winds. The titles went to Viktoria Andrulyte UKR in the Apprentice (35-45 years), Jon Emmet GBR in the Masters (45-55), Allen Clark CAN in the Grand Masters (55-65 yrs), Jeff LoosmoreAUS in the Great Grand Masters (65-75 yrs) and Bill Symes USA in the Legends (75+). Jacques Perret SUI, the only Swiss competitor, finished 23rd in the Great Grand Msters. All rankings and the final report.

ILCA 6 - Master World Championship 2023 - Varuna THA - Day 4

The ILCA 6 Masters World Championships continued yesterday with races 7 & 8 in 6-8 knots. Although there are still 4 races to go, the decision seems to have been made in 6 of the 7 age categories. Only in the Great Grand Master (65+) it remains exciting: Stephen Gunther AUS leads with only one point ahead of Jeff Loosmore AUS. Jacques Perret SUI is still 23rd. All rankings and the report.
