 Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Leg 3 - Piriac-sur-Mer FRA - Final results This morning at 3h, Benoît Tuduri FRA reached the finish as winner of the 3rd leg. The first-time participant (Bizuth) had already won the first leg, but was given a time penalty. So it was not quite enough for the overall victory. It goes to Corentin Horeau FRA, who has a lead of just 11 minutes over Basile Bourgnon FRA after a total of more than 11 days of racing. Loïs Berrehar FRA follows in third place.  Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Leg 3 - Day 2 In still moderate conditions, the fleet has now covered half of the leg. The leaders are still in sight: Elodie Bonafous FRA leads with 1.4 miles ahead of Alexis Loison FRA and Gaston Morvan FRA. Only Benoît Tuduri FRA (2.8 miles behind), sailing in 9th place, is venturing close to shore, not a bad idea given the wind forecasts ! Nils Palmieri SUI is in 24th place, 18 miles behind. So far, the 3rd leg, which started yesterday at noon in Roscoff, has been characterised by calm winds. This morning, the closely packed fleet is rounding the western tip of Brittany. Gaston Morvan FRA and Alexis Loison FRA are tied at the top, followed 0.3 miles behind by Elodie Bonafous FRA in third.  Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Baix de Morlaix FRA - Leg 3 Start Today at 14h, the start to the 3rd and last leg of the Solitaire will take place in Brittany. The race organisers have decided to shorten the leg and hold it close to the coast due to the forecast of calm winds on the Bay of Biscay. Over 470 miles, the race will head south along the coast of Brittany to the mouth of the Gironde, and from there back north to the leg finish at Piriac-sur-Mer. ----- The preview, all further reports and the race-tracker. Yesterday we reported about the leg victory of Basile Bourgnon FRA, he also took the lead in the overall classification. Meanwhile, the whole fleet has reached the finish. Nils Palmieri SUI had to accept a setback after his 2nd place in the 1st stage. Now 15 hours behind, he has dropped back to 21st place. The results and the reports.  Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Roscoff FRA - Leg 2 - Day 5 - Victory for Basile Bourgnon FRA Yesterday, the conditions remained very flat until the finish. ----- Basile Bourgnon FRA, with 21 the youngest participant in the fleet, could defend his lead just 4 minutes ahead of Corentin Horeau FRA. Loïs Berrehar FRA came in 3rd, 27 minutes behind. 15 of the 31 participants have reached the finish line by 7am this morning. Nils Palmieri SUI is still on the road in 21st position. Light winds dominated the 2nd leg of the Solitaire yesterday as well. Tonight, the closely packed fleet passed the south-western tip of England, with 60 miles still to go across the English Channel to the leg finish in Roscoff. ----- Basile Bourgnon FRA took the lead just 0.1 miles ahead of Correntin Horeau FRA. Nils Palmieri SUI has dropped back to 18th place, but his gap is still only 6.5 miles. ----- The winds will continue to be very light today, an exciting day awaits, finish expected this evening.  Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Leg 2 - Day 3 With winds remaining moderate, the fleet is heading south in the Irish Sea this morning. ----- In the early hours of the day, Gaston Morvan FRA has taken the lead after being the first to circumvent an exclusion zone to the east and benefiting from slightly fresher winds. Alexis Loison FRA, who had been leading the fleet in the west, follows a mile behind in second. Elodie Bonafous FRA also in the east has moved up to third with a gap of 2.9 miles.  Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Kinsale IRL - Leg 2 - Start Today at 13h CET, the start to the 2nd leg of the Solitaire will take place in Kinsale off the southern Irish coast, leading over 550 miles back to France in northern Brittany via a detour into the Irish Sea. The wind forecast is flat, which often makes for large gaps, possibly the decisive stage ! After the jury decisions, the gaps after the first stage are extremely small: The retroactively declared winner Tom Dolan IRL is only just 6 minutes ahead of Nils Palmieri SUI, and the first 25 are separated by 45 min - the ranking and the video summary of the 1st leg.  Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Kinsale IRL - Leg 1 - Final results - Jury declares Tom Dolan IRL as winner Yesterday morning the jury met and handed out various time penalties: Leg winner Benoît Tuduri FRA has to accept a 30 min penalty for not following the class rules and dropped back to 4th position. Julie Simon FRA drove through a restricted zone and has been downgraded from 3rd to 17th position. Thus the leg win goes to Tom Dolan IRL, and Nils Palmieri SUI follows in 2nd place.  Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Kinsale IRL - Leg 1 - Final results Yesterday morning, the first leg of the Solitaire ended in Kinsale IRL after 3 days and 19 hours. ----- Benoît Tuduri FRA won the first leg of his first Solitaire 15 minutes ahead of Tom Dolan IRL. Further 6 minutes behind, Julie Simon FRA was 3rd - also her first time in the Solitaire. Only by one minute, Nils Palmieri SUI in 4th place missed the podium.  Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Leg 1 - Day 2 Good westerly wind conditions enabled a direct passage across the English Channel to Cowes yesterday, and the route back to France was also made quickly. Early this morning, the fleet passed the Héaux de Bréhat lighthouse in northern Brittany, and is now on its way to Fastnet Rock in the south of Ireland. ----- New in the lead is Basile Bourgnon FRA, 0.5 miles ahead of Guillaume Pirouelle FRA in 2nd.  Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Caen FRA - Day 1 With fresh winds around 20 knots, the start of the 54th Solitaire, the season highlight of this single-handed class, took place in Caen yesterday at noon. 32 participants, including 10 newcomers (Bizuth) and 5 women are at the start. The first leg leads over 610 miles to Kinsale IRL and should take about 3 days. ----- This morning, the fleet is sailing close together across the English Channel with Guillaume Pirourelle FRA leading by 1.5 miles over Basile Bourgnon FRA. Elodie Bonafous FRA is the best classified woman in 7th place, 2.6 miles behind.
