The two maxi trimarans progressed yesterday at the speed of the record holder 'Banque Populaire' and 'Spindrift' with Yann Guichard FRA and Dona Bertarelli SUI kept her small advantage of 15 miles, while 'IDEC' with Francis Joyon FRA lost a few miles and is now 310 miles behind. 'Spindrift' should have passed the longitude of Cape of Good Hope by Friday to establish a new record for this distance. However, a anticyclone resides South of Africa, forcing the two multihulls to dive South early.
