 Trophee Jules Verne Day 12
A front, having reached the 140-foot trimaran 'Spindrift' from the West yesterday, accelerated the multihull massively and 764 miles were sailed in 24 hours, extending the lead on the record again on 100 miles. Early this morning, Yann Guichard FRA and his team passed the Cape of Good Hope Longitude entering the Indian Ocean. 'IDEC' with Francis Joyon FRA was less lucky as she missed the fast train and remained in exceptionally light winds, loosing even more miles. 342 miles is now the backlog on the record. For 'Spindrift', the fast ride in the Roaring Forties begins with roughly 15 day speed racing on big surfs in cold temperatures.
