News from ISAF the new CEO Peter Sowrey has stepped down after 5 months
Early this year, Jerome Pels NED, the long-time ISAF CEO, gave notice without advance, and last week, his successor Peter Sowrey has stepped down as well. Reaons have not been mentioned in the ISAF short communiqué.
ISAF, the International Sailing Federation, seems to have lost control, and the lukewarm reaction on the desastrous water quality situation at the Rio Olympic venue is only a last proof that there is no real leadership from the top. (Dixit Leweck/Butt 4474: Rio must be the genesis for the saying, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." i.e. ISAF). The bad acceptance of the ISAF Worldcup among sailors and federations, considered to be the pinnacle of the sport, and the selection of new Olympic events, away from solid Class organisations and the banning of keelboats, are two other examples of mislead.
