 Trophee Jules Verne Day 19
Sailing on the 54th parallel not far from the iceberg danger zone, 'IDEC' with Francis Joyon FRA is catching up miles on the record and her backlog is down on 170 miles, the gap on 'Spindrift' 65 miles. Yann Guichard FRA and his team are on a longer, prudent course in the North, but have nevertheless reduced the deficit on the record to 115 miles. With winds around 25 kn, the Indian Ocean is rather soft this time. Tonight, 'Spindrift' will cross the longitude of Cape Leuwin at the South-West point of Australia, the second of the three capes to be left on port.
