Trophée Jules Verne - Day 32

After the furious final on the Pacific Ocean and the passage of the last of the three capes, the Cape Horn, in a new record time, 'Spindrift' (Yann Guichard FRA/Dona Bertarelli SUI) was slowed down on the South Atlantic loosing much on the record. In spite of a more direct route North of the Falklands, the advance melted to 82 miles during the past 24 hours. The backlog of 'IDEC' remained unchanged with 272 miles, but Francis Joyon FRA and his team on the southern route around the Falklands benefit from a fresher breeze for the moment.
