Trophée Jules Verne - Day 34
Saturday, December 26, 2015
'Spindrift' (Yann Guichard FRA/Dona Bertarelli SUI) almost stalled yesterday along the Argentinian coast in the center of an anticyclone cell and lost much time on the record. 309 miles was the backlog this morning, while 'IDEC' (Francis Joyon FRA) kept the pace of the record holder 'Banque Populaire' and is now timewise almost equal with 'Spindrift', 322 miles behind the record. On her way North, 'IDEC' crossed yesterday a huge iceberg as explained in their report. Today will be crucial for 'IDEC' how much the St-Helena high pressure system can be avoided.
