Trophée Jules Verne - Day 36
Monday, December 28, 2015
Both Maxi-Trimarans lost again ground on the record of Loick Peyron FRA on 'Banque Populaire' (now 'Spindrift') during the past 24 hours, as neither the strategy along the Brazilian coast of 'Spindrift' nor the more Eastern course along the Peyron record track taken by 'IDEC' has been paying. While Peyron enjoyed top conditions over the South Atlantic, the two challengers have to cope with light and unconstant winds in the wide St-Helena anticyclone influence area.
'Spindrift' had a lag of 434 miles back this morning UTC, 'IDEC' 750 miles (roughly 24 hours).
