Trophée Jules Verne - Day 39

Finally yesterday, the two Maxi-Trimarans touched the Southern Trade winds accelerating them on 'normal' speeds. About 100 miles was the reduction of the backlogs on the record for both multihulls, but whether this is enough to catch up the lag on time is more and more questionable. 'Spindrift' has 3'480 miles to sail to the arrival line and the backlog this morning was 606 miles. 'IDEC' was 1'243 miles back. To beat the record, the finish line would have to be crossed in five day.
