49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17, RS:X-Windsurfer - Midwinters - Miami FL, USA - Day 1

As unsual, the Olympic sailing circuit visits Florida in January, with the 2nd Worldcup event in Miami end of the month as highlight, to kickoff the Olympic regatta season 2016. Yesterday was day one of a tune-up event organised for the Olympic Skiffs, the Nacra-17's and the RS:X windsurfers. The Skiffs sailed two, the Nacras one race in a light wind on Bay Biscayne. Thomas Barrows/Joseph Morris USA won both heats in the 49ers ahead of Brad Funk/Trevor Burd USA. Charlotte Dobson/Sophie Ainsworth GBR closely lead in the 49ersFX one point ahead of Jena-Mai Hansen/Katja Salskov DEN. The co-favorits Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA are only 12th for the moment. Winners in the only Nacra 17 race were Justin Liu/Denise Lim SIN ahead of Lin Cenholt/Christian Lübeck DEN. Iker Martinez/Julia Rita ESP follow on the 3rd place. Sebastian Hansen NOR führt leads in the RS:X-windsurfers.
