World Match Racing Tour 2016 Congressional Cup Long Beach CA, USA Day 2
Dismal conditions on the race course forced lengthy postponements, and ultimately curtailed racing, on the second day of Qualifying at the 52nd Congressional Cup regatta, the second stage of the 2016 World Match Racing Tour. Despite rain and a light, shifty breeze, two flights were completed before winds deteriorated to nothing.
Phil Robertson NZL tacked on two more wins to his tally, climbing to the top of the leader board with a 6-1 record. Chris Steele NZL evened the score (5-1) defeating Nicolai Sehested DEN and Taylor Canfield ISV joined the duo defeating Björn Hansen SWE. The three teams having lost their races yesterday - Eric Monnin SUI, Bjorn Hansen SWE and Johnie Berntsson SWE – are on the ranks 5 to 7 with a 4-3 score each.
