Olympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 1

A fresh breeze and cool temperatures prevailed on the first day of the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Medemblik. All classes sailed the planned 2-3 races.
First in the small 12 teams' 470 fleet - men and women jointly - are Simin Sivitz/Jas Farneti ITA with two bullets ahead of Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA. Charlotte Yven/Marine Riou FRA on rank 5 are the best women's team. In the 49ers, Botin/Lopez ESP, day ranks 2/2/1 have clearly taken the lead. All 3 races in the RS:X were won by the Olympic Champion Dorian Van Rijsselberge NED. Good performance by the Canadians with Zach Plavsic on rank 3 and Gabriel Verrier-Paquette on the 6th place. In the RS:X women windsurfers, Mia Dziarnowska POL is on the first position with the ranks 2/2/1. Not participating are the 49ersFX, the Nacras 17 and the Finns.
