M32-Catamaran - World Match Racing Tour 2016 - Newport RI, USA - Day 2

After the foggy opening day with light winds, the sun appeared yesterday in Newport and a good 16-18 kn seabreeze filled in. Two of the four Groups have completed their qualifications, while the other two Groups will sail the last races today. The first three by Group are qualified for the next round, the remaining two duel in sail-offs to grasp the last Round-of-16 places. The favorites are all thru, among others Ian Williams GBR, Taylor Canfield ISV and also Sally Barkow USA. The newcomer Iker Martinez ESP capsized yesterday in his first fresh-wind race and is in the sail-off against David Gilmour AUS.
