IMOCA Open 60 - Transat New-York-Vendée - New York USA - Day 5

After 5 days underway, Alex Thompson GBR with his 'Hugo Boss' stays on top of W-E Transat across the Atlantic Ocean. Having taken the most northern course head-on to France, he was able to extend his lead on 95 miles. But today, he might face a head wind at the end of the low pressure gyre. His opponents in the South benefit from much better conditions and are 4 kn faster as Thompson with the disadvantage of the longer distance. Sébastien Josse FRA ('Edmond de Rothschild') closely followed by Jérémy Béyou FRA ('Maître Coq') hold the positions 2 and 3.
