Part I of the Kiel Week 2016 with 14 International Classes ended yesterday, the first day with lighter winds. The incredibly long series of Kiel Week victories ended for Wolfgang Hunger GER as - sailing with Julian Kleiner GER as crew - he has been defeated in the 5o5 on his home waters. Andy Smith/Tim Needham GBR were the winners with a 4 points' advantage. Taylor Moore/Andrew Buttner USA finished the Championship on rank 6. In the Lasers 4.7, the leading Gautier Verhulst SUI was overtaken by Maksim Dzihael BLR winning one point ahead of the Swiss on rank 2. Roger Oswald SUI moved up on rank 2 in the Musto Skiffs behind the superior winner Frithjof Schwerdt GER but ahead of the recently crowned World Champion Andi Lachenschmid GER.
