IMOCA Open 60 - Vendée Globe 2016/17 - Les Sables d'Olonne FRA - Start in 4 days

The final countdown to the start of the Vendée Globe 2016/7 on the coming Sunday.November 6th, is on. 29 solo skippers from 10 nations, including the NZL, USA, GBR and IRL, will depart to the nonstop round-the-world race. The interest of the public and media is huge and even exceeds previous editions. The Vendee is by far the most popular sail race world-wide. 680'000 spectators already visited the Race Village at the Les Sables d'Olonne harbour, and media from 22 nations will follow the start.
We have already presented the foiling Open 60s, the favorites for victory, but experienced ocean racers on conventional versions such as the 2005 Vendée winner Vincent Riou FRA must not be forgotten.
