The closely packed leader group was on a SW course yesterday and is now about to gibe to reach the trade winds in the South as soon as possible. Armel Le Cléac'h FRA ('Banque Populaire') will be the first to touch the fresh breeze extending his lead on the immediate chasers Vincent Riou FRA ('PRB') on a conventional Open60 without foils 10 nm behind this morning, and Paul Meilhat FRA ('SMA'), 25 nm back. Alan Roura SUI ('La Fabrique') on rank 24 remains 170 nm behind.
