World Sailing - General Assembly 2016 - Barcelona ESP - new Executive Committee elected

Kim Andersson DEN was elected new World Sailing President in the second round with 52 votes (99 Member National Authorities represented). He replaces Carlo Croce ITA (46 votes), who was voted out after only 4 years in office. For the first time, a President did not have the confidence of a majority of nations for another 4 years. Seven new Vice-Presidents, 3 women (all new) and 4 men, have been elected as well out of 15 candidates running, among them the 5-times Olympic medalist Torben Grael BRA.
