Trophée Jules Verne - Trimaran IDEC - Day 1

Yesterday morning at 08.19 h UTC, Francis Joyon FRA and his team crossed the starting line between Lizard Point GBR (the most southwest point of England) and Ouessant FRA (off the Breton coast) to the Trophée Jules Verne. This is Joyon's second attempt within 8 weeks to beat the round-the-globe record for teams of 45 days and 13 hours. Sailing in favorable condition, the Trimaran 'IDEC' is chasing down the Portugues coast at a speed of almost 30 kn this morning.
