Armel Le Cléac'h FRA and 500 nm back Alex Thompson GBR are in the approach of Cape Horn. Action behind the leading duo, as the 4th-ranked Paul Meilhat FRA announced a defect at the suspension of the canting keel. At least, he was able to fix it in a center position. Whether he will be able to continue the race with his disabled Open 60 remains to be seen. South of Australia, Alan Roura SUI, new on rank 13, is now leading the second half of the fleet. Stéphane Diraison FRA with his damaged Open 60 is on the way to New Zealand, where Thomas Ruyant FRA with his boat about to break apart successfully arrived already in the harbour of Bluff on South New Zealand.
