"It’s different from the usual scenario and I’m at the limit of my understanding of the weather” comments Armel Le Cléac'h FRA the situation north of the Equator with complicated wind patches ahead. A low pressure system over the Canaries is disturbing the usual trade winds. Nevertheless, Le Cléac'h FRA succeeded to enhance his advantage on Alex Thomson GBR again to 179 nm. The hunt with stop and go phases will continue during the coming days. Jérémy Béyou FRA on the 3rd place however will proably be able to sail in normal North Atlantic trade wind conditions allowing him to reduce the backlog of presently 700 nm. Rich Wilson USA is still sailing in moderate winds on the South Pacific holding the 14th place in a group of now four, separated by 100 nm only.
