IMOCA Open 60 Vendee Globe 2016/17 Day 107, Wilson USA to arrive as 13th
Alan Roura SUI, the youngest Vendée Globe participant of all times (age 24 in a few days), crossed the finish line yesterday morning on rank 12. The Swiss was very happy about his achievement and announced upon arrival his intention to prepare for the Vendée 2020. This afternoon, Rich Wilson USA, the eldest skipper, age 66, 73 nm from Les Sables this morning, will terminate the race. Conrad Coleman NZL is still tediously sailing upwind with his jury rig at speeds around 3 to 4 kn, hoping to touch westerly winds soon taking him to Les Sables in about 5 days. More and more difficult is the situation for the backmarker Sébastien Destremau FRA: He will probably be hit by a storm front with winds of up to 70 kn and he is also short of food for one week.
The race tracker, the daily news and the videos of the arrival of Alan Roura SUI.
