This year's Olympic Classes Worldcup is being held in a reduced format with the Miami and Hyères events and the Final in Santander ESP in June. Qualified for the Final are the Olympia 2016 medalists, the winners of the Worldcup events and - depending on the class - the 20 to 25 best-overall in the Worldcup rankings.

North Americans qualified for the Finals based on the preliminary rankings are:
- 49erFX: Roble/Shea USA 20th
- Nacra-17: Gibbs/Chaffee USA 14th, Gulari/Weis USA 19th
- RX:X men: Juan Bosco Varela Barba MEX 18th
- Laser Standard: Charlie Buckingham USA, Robert Davis CAN 21st, Chris Barnard USA 24th
- 470 men: McNay/Hughues USA 3rd, Rogers/Parkin USA 13th
- 470 women: Brugman/Brugman USA 15th, Knowles/Franchett USA 19th
- Finn: Caleb Paine USA 3rd, Tom Ramshaw CAN 9th, Kyle Martin CAN 14th, Luke Muller USA 19th
