 Windsurfing  RS:XEuropean Championship 2017  Marseille FRA  Day 1, with NorAm athletes
Waiting till the afternoon also for the RS:X windsurfers ath their European Championship off Marseille FRA, when the Mistral decreased to 25-30 kn. 3 races per fleet were completed in a considerable wave with - obviously - a big advantage for the heavy weights.
In the RS:X men, the defending champion Louis Giard FRA and Nimrod Masiah ISR share the lead both with the ranks 1/1/3 in their groups. Pavel Tarnowski POL follows one point behind. The Olympic Champions Dorian Van Rijsselberge NED, back from a longer pause, follows on rank 5. Completely lost in the big breeze was the World ranking nbr 1 Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI, one of the lightest athletes in the fleet, who is down on rank 78 among the 105 participants. Gabriel Verrier-Paquette CAN is 33rd, Ignacio Berenguer MEX 55th. .
Hélène Noesmoen FRA won all three races in the RS:X women. Maja Dziarnowska POL and Lilian De Geus NED are the first persuers. Farrah Hall USA is 35th.
