Ultime Trimarans - The Bridge - St. Nazaire FRA - Day 5
Friday, June 30, 2017
No chances again yesterday for the three ultime trimarans to keep up with the big ocean liner 'Queen Mary II' in the fresh westerly headwind. Their backlog on the passenger ship, cruising at a steady 24 kn speed, is now 700 nm. However, the wind situation has improved for the multihulls allowing them to progress at speeds around 19 kn. 'Macif' with François Gabart FRA and his team is now 37 nm ahead of 'IDEC' with Francis Joyon FRA. Thomas Coville FRA on 'Sodebo' has reduced the backlog on 67 nm.
