Saturday, July 1, 2017
The passenger ship 'Queen Mary II' will reach New York today by noon, while the three trimarans are still over 1'000 nm from the port of destination. In the partly light-breeze upwind courses, they had no chance to beat 'Queen Mary II' advancing at a constant 24 kn speed.
'Macif' with François Gabart FRA remains on first but the persues have reduced the gap somewhat. Francis Joyon FRA with his 'IDEC' is 50 nm behind. Thomas Coville FRA has reduced the gap on 65 nm.
