Olympic Worldcup 2017/18 Gamagori JPN Final results
This morning UTC, the remaining Medal Races were on the program of the Olympic Classes Worldcup in Japan. However, the approaching typhoon prompted the Race Committee to cancel racing prematurely and the 470 men and RS:X men could not sail their final race.
Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS were therefore the clear winners in the 470 men ahead of Isozaki/Takayanagi JPN and Imamura/Hokazono JPN.
In the 470 women, the World Champions Agnieszka Skrzypulec/Irmina Mrozek POL demonstrated their superiority winning the Medal Race in very shifty winds. Ai Kondo/Miho Yoshioka JPN had no problem defending Silver. Bronze however was won by the 5th placed Cassandre Blandin/Aloîse Retornaz FRA finishing second after a very clever race relegating Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI, concentrating their race on the previously 4th Benedetta di Salle/Alessandra Dubbini ITA on rank 4.
The only North American qualified for a Medal Race was Erika Reineke USA in the Lasers Radial with the results below in a separate news text.

The final results of the best North Americans by nation:
470 men: 13th Stu McNay/Dave Hughes USA
49er: 17th Judge Ryan/David Liebenberg USA
Laser Standard: 18th Chris Barnard USA, 29th Robert Davies CAN
