 J/70 Sanctions for measurement violations
At the 2017 J/70 World Championship, seven J/70s were rejected due to modifications to their keels beyond what was permitted in the rules. Class internal investigations have been made in the meantime and the individuals that were “involved, to different degrees, in the ‘Intentional violation of the Class Rules’ and/or ‘unsportsmanlike conduct’ at the 2017 World Championship and/or some extended period prior to the World Championship” have been suspended. With 12 month each, the boat owners Carlo Alberini ITA and Marco Salvi ITA got the severest sanctions.
A report in Scuttlebutt.
