The first five classes sailed their Medal Races yesterday in a fresh 20kn breeze, concluding the Miami Olympic Classes Worldcup Regatta.
In the RS:X women windsurfers, 7 of the 10 participants had an option on a Medal. Winning the Medal Race, Hélène Noesmoen FRA was the overall winner one point ahead of Flavia Tartaglini ITA, and another point back Blanca Manchon ESP 3. French was the winner in the RS:X men windsurfers with Louis Giard FRA. As 2nd in the last race, Kiran Badloe NED replaced Pierre Le Coq FRA on rank 2.
No change on top of the 49ers: Fletcher/Bihell GBR remained on rank 1 ahead of Botin/Lopez ESP and Alonso/Alonso ESP. Smashing was the victory in the 49ersFX where Viktoria Jurczok/Anika Lorenz GER on top had finally a 24 (!) points lead on Ragna and Maia Agerup NOR. Tanja Frank/ Lorena Abicht AUT earned Bronze.
As convincing was also the victory of Jason Waterhouse/Lisa Darmanin AUS 23 points ahead of the second in the Nacras 17. The Olympic Champion Santiago Lange/Cecilia Carranza ARG took Silver, Thomas Zajac/Barbara Matz AUT Bronze.
The other 5 classes sailed some more Qualification Series heats.
Before today's Medal Races, Giles Scott GBR is the premature winner 19 points ahead of Alican Kaynar TUR and Caleb Payne USA 3 points back, will fight for Silver and Bronze today.
Nobody doubts that the 470 men title will go to the UK. Patience/Grube GBR are first 17 points ahead of Peponnet/Mion FRA 8 points ahead of Anton Dahlberg/Frederik Bergström SWE.
New on top of the 470 women are Tina Mrak/Veronika Macarol SLO, 13 points ahead of Afrodite Zegers/Anneloes Van Veen NED on a safe way to the overall win. At equal points with the Dutch girls are Agnieszka Skrzypulec/Irmina Mrozek POL fighting for the Silver and Bronze but Ai Kondo/Miho Yoshioka JPN 3 points behind have also an option on a podium place.

The best North Americans by class and nation are:
- 470 men: Stu McNay/Graham Biehl USA 8th
- 470 women: Atlantic and Nora-Lucia Brugman USA 24th
- Finn: Caleb Paine USA 3rd, Tom Ramshaw CAN 13th
- Laser Standard: Charlie Buckingham USA 12th, Robert Davis 21st, Yanic Gentry MEX 59th
- Laser Radial: Paige Railey USA 13th, Isabella Bertold CAN 24th
- 49er: Judge Ryan/Alan Sign USA 9th, William Jones/Evan DePaul CAN 27th
- 49erFX: Stephanie Roble/Margaret Shea USA 8th, Alexandra Ten Hove/Mariah Millen CAN 20th
- Nacra 17: Ravi Parent/Christina Persson USA 9th
- RS:X men: Pedro Pascual USA 35th, Ignacio Berenguer MEX 42nd
- RS:X women: Farrah Hall USA 25th, Cristina Ortiz Vivas MEX 33rd
