Olympic Classes - Trofeo Princesa Sofia - Palma ESP

The 50th Trofeo Sofia on Palma Bay off the Spanish Mallorca Island begins today with the Practice Races with 850 boats and over 1200 sailors present (see NorAms below). This is arguably the best-attended Olympic Classes event, as neither quotas nor World Sailing restrictions limit the access for the very best by nation. 9 of the 10 reigning World Champions participate, among them the Olympic Champions, America's Cup winners and Volvo Ocean Racers Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL back on the 49er.
The wind forecast for today predicts an Eastwind around 12kn, with gust of up to 20kn.
