 12mR  World Championship 2019  Newport RI, USA  Final results, World Titles Claimed in Four Divisions
Exciting was the fifth and final day of the 2019 12 Metre World Championship in Newport RI. With 'Nyala' of Patrizio Bertelli ITA (with Maurizio Pelaschier ITA) having clinched her series early in the 'Vintage Division' after a sweep of yesterday’s two races, it came down to single races today to determine World Champions in Grand Prix, Modern and Traditional Divisions. ----- In 'Grand Prix Division' (with the newest boats), 'Legacy' of Thomas Andersen DEN (with Jesper Bank DEN) grasped the title. ----- In the largest Division with 8 teams, the 'Moderns', 'Challenge 12' of Jack Le Fort, Jamestown, RI, USA (with Ken Read USA) reclaimed rank one with two race wins yesterday. ----- In the 'Traditional Division', 'Columbia' of Kevin Hegarty/Anthony Chiurco, Newport, RI, USA remained on top. In the 'Spirit Division' (with no title at stake), 'America II' (US-42) of Scott Curtis, New York, NY, USA finished first. ----- Competing in total were 21 historic 12 Metres from six countries – the largest fleet ever gathered in North America. ----- The results and the final report.
