Various conditions with light 8 to 12 knots winds, light swell, and passing showers prevailed yesterday at the 2021 US Open – Clearwater for the 90 sailors in six classes. ----- In the Lasers Radial, Chapman Petersen (Fontana, Wis.) continues to post strong scores through another three races. 11 points behind on 2nd follows the top women Paige Railey (Clearwater, Fla.), leading Isabella Maegli Aguero (GUA) by 16 points. In spite of a race win each, Sarah Douglas (Toronto, CAN), and Charlotte Rose (Houston, Texas) lost ranks after bad finishes or disqualifications. ----- In the Lasers Standard, Leo Boucher (West River, Md.) posted a 2-3-3 scoring line and extended his lead on 17 points. Marshall McCann (Kemah, Texas) and Connor Nelson, separated by one point, are new on the ranks 2 and 3. ----- Anna Vasilieva (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) continues dominating the Lasers 4.7 with three more wins. Evan Wern (St. Petersburg, Fla.) is the top male sailor in the fleet in 2nd overall. ----- After 13 races in the iQFoil Open fleet, Mariana Aguilar Chavez Peon (MEX) keeps on dominating with 12 bullets, 11 points ahead of Giovanna Prada BRA and Farrah Hall (Annapolis, Md.) as top American. ----- Mateus Isaac (Sao Paulo, BRA) continues his hot streak with 14 consecutive wins to remain perfect for the regatta. He holds a 21-point lead over Adrien Gaillard (MEX). Alexander Temko (Palm Harbor, Fla.) is the top American in third place. ----- Position changes on top of the Foiling Kites after the four races of yesterday where Evan Heffernan (Santa Barbara, Calif.) replaced the not-competing Markus Edegran (West Palm Beach, Fla.) on top. New on rank 2 follows Cai Calder (Alameda, Calif.) best of the day with 3 bullets.
