470, RS:X-Windsurfer - Portugal Grand Prix - Round 3 - Vilamoura POR

The 2nd round of the 3rd Portugal Grand Prix starts today in Vilamoura. Strong participation in the 470, as the world championships for the class will take place back to back at the same venue in a week's time. Among the 25 men's teams are the favorites Xammar/Rodriguez ESP or Patience/ Grube GBR as well as Stuart McNay/David Hughes, Trevor Moore Foundation USA and Shawn Harvey/Augie Dale, Oyster Bay 470 Team, USA. ----- The 23 women fleet includes Nikole Barnes/Lara Dallman-Weiss, St. Francis Yacht Club/New York Yacht Club USA, Carmen and Emma Cowles US Sailing Team/Larchmont Yacht Club USA as well as Atlantic and Nora Brugman, Shelter Island YC, USA. ----- With 11 women and 20 men, the windsurfing fleets are quite a bit smaller. ----- The event website.
