 Various Classes  Charleston Race Week 2021  Day 2  Shaking up Standings in Some Classes
Cloudy skies allowed for a light easterly to predominate at the beginning of the day and made it difficult to set up the first race on Saturday. Fortunately, the sun broke through enabling the southerly sea breeze to build to 12-15kn, and four races could be completed. ----- Here the top ranks in the largest fleets: ----- Melges 24 (35 boats) Travis Weisleder, Richmond, VA, USA, and his team 9 points ahead of the best of the day (2-1-1-2) Bora Gulari, Detroit, MI. New in 3rd follows Laura Grondin, West Hartford, CT, another point back. ----- J/70 (29 boats) Bruno Pasquinelli, Dallas, TX, and his team, 5 points ahead Joel Ronning, Excelsior, MN, up in 2nd and John Heaton, Wilmette, IL, tied with Andrew Fisher, Miami, FL in 3rd with a 10 point backlog on rank 2. ---- VX One (26 boats) Christopher Alexander, Ocean Springs, MS, and his team, 6 points ahead of Marty Kullman, Mt Pleasant, SC, in 2nd, and another point behind Michelle Warner, Boulder, CO in 3rd. ----- The results, the report of day 2, and the event website.
