470 - European Championship 2021 - Vilamoura POR - Day 2

Light winds between 7 and 9 kn marked the second day of the 470 European Championships in Vilamoura, and in all classes, two races each could be sailed. ----- In the 470 men, Paul Snow-Hansen/Daniel Willcox NZL were the best of the day, finishing first and seventh respectively, taking over the lead. Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP follow 2 points behind in 2nd, with Olympic Champions Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS another 2 points back now in 3rd. ----- Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA (Trevor Moore Foundation), five ranks down, follow in 17th, Jacob Saunders/Oliver Bone CAN (RNSYS/CYC/Trevor Moore Foundation) are 20th, and Shawn Harvey/Augie Dale USA (Oyster Bay 470 Team) 21st among the 29 teams. ----- In the 470 women, Fernanda Oliveira/Ana-Luisa Barbachan BRA won both races and moved up to third place. Still at the top are Silvia Mas-Depares/Patricia Cantero ESP, followed 2 points behind by Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA in 2nd. Equal on points with the Brazilians, Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI moved up to 4th. ----- Minor changes for the USA women with Nikole Barnes/Lara Dallman-Weiss USA (St. Francis YC, St. Thomas YC) in 11th, and Carmen + Emma Cowles USA (Larchmont YC) in 13th among the 18 participants----- Nitai Hasson/Saar Tamir ISR have taken the lead in the 470 Mixed rankings, followed 5 points behind by Amy Seabright/James Taylor GBR. Best of the day (4/4), Louisa Nordstrom/Trevor Bornarth USA (Oyster Bay 470 Team) have moved up to third. 34 teams racing. ----- All rankings, the daily-report and the video-of-the-day.
