The second day of the Olympic sailing competitions brought more wind than forecast, however calming down in the afternoon.
----- The RS:X windsurfers have now completed half of the program, i.e. 6 races each. Favorite Kiran Badloe NED leads the men's rankings by just one point over Mattia Camboni ITA. Matteo Sanz-Lanz SUI, today with 4th and 5th places, remains on the podium 5 points behind Badloe NED. The forecast for the coming days is still for light winds, conditions that Sanz-Lanz and Camboni ITA are preferring.
----- Thanks to the day's win, Charline Picon FRA has maintained her position at the top of the women's ranking. Emma Wilson GBR (4/2/1 today) is now tied in second place. Yunxiu Lu CHN is just close behind with a 2 point backlog.
----- The ILCA 7 program remains one race behind schedule,. After 3 heats, Kaarle Tapper FIN is still in the lead, with Tonci Stipanovic CRO moving up to 2nd as best of the day (6/3). With Pavlos Kontides CYP, another Olympic medallist is following on equal points on rank 3. Only one point behind, are Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA, 4th, Philipp Buhl GER 6th, and Robert Scheidt BRA 8th.
----- In ILCA 6, Line Flem Höst NOR was best of the day with ranks 1 and 3 and took the lead in the overall ranking. Vasileia Karachaliou GRE remains close behind with 2 points. Anne-Marie Rindom DEN follows on rank 3. Svenja Weger GER dropped back from rank 1 to rank 8 with the day ranks 21/28.
