Round-the-world record - East to West - Romain Pilliard FRA/Alex Pella ESP - Day 4

In optimal conditions with 20 kn of reaching winds and summer temperatures, the trimaran 'Use it again' passed the Canary Islands yesterday. The lead over the record, held by Jean-Luc Van den Heede FRA on a monohull, has accordingly already grown to 600 miles. Ideally, Romain Pilliard FRA/Alex Pella ESP should improve the record by about 40 days....yet no trimaran has made it safely through the southern ocean from east to west. ----- The race tracker and the daily report.
