Yesterday in moderate sea breeze conditions, the qualifications for today's Medal Races were completed. ----- With Sarah Douglas CAN in the ILCA 6, Odile Van Aanholt/Anette Duetz NED in the 49ersFX and Ruggero Tita Caterina Banti ITAin the Nacra 17, the first overall winners are already determined. They cannot be caught up in the Medal Races. ----- In the 49ers, Erwan Fischer/CLément Péquin FRA go into the Medal Race with an 11-point lead over Ian Barrows/Hans Henken USA. ----- In ILCA 7, Michael Beckett GBR is 11 points ahead of Philipp Buhl GER. The Olympic Champion Matthew Wearn AUS follows in 3rd, 18 points behind. A total of 162 competitors were at the start. ----- In the Mixed 470, Jordi Xammar/Nora Brugman ESP go into the Medal Race with a 16 point lead. Luise Wanser/Philipp Autenrieth GER, Kevin Peponnet/Aloïse Retornaz FRA and Giacomo Ferrari/Bianca Caruso ITA on ranks the 2-4 are just 3 points apart. ----- In ILCA 6, Hannah Snellgrove GBR and Vasileia Karachaliou GRE will decide on silver and bronze among themselves. ----- In Kite-Foil and iQ-Foil Windsurf, the decisions in the Medal Races, held according to their own format, will be made today.
