Kieler Woche 2022 - Part 2 - Kiel GER - Final results

The Medal Races in light winds brought Kiel Week to a close yesterday. Malte and Anastasiya Winkel GER held on to the top spot in the Mixed 470, Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI remained in 5th place and missed the podium by only 3 points. In the 49er, Peters/Sterritt GBR also won the Medal Race, and were clearly ahead of Botin/Trittel ESP and McHardie/McKenzie NZL. In the 49erFX, 17-year-old Sophie Steinlein GER with her coach Thomas Plössel GER on the foresheet won clearly ahead of Vilma Bobeck/Rebecca Netzler SWE. In the Nacra 17, Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti continue to dominate clearly. John Gimson/Anna Burnet GR and Vittorio Bisarro/Mael Frascari ITA completed the podium. In the ILCA 6, Mara Stransky AUS won clearly, Monika Mikkola FIN moved up to second place thanks to victory in the Medal Race. In thr ILCA 7 Kaarle Tapper FIN won the Medal Race and the overall ranking ahead of Wannes Van Laer BEL and Valtteri Uusitalo FIN. While Lina Erdil GER held on to the top spot in the iQ-Foil windsurfers, Sebastian Kördel GER, who had previously won all heats, had to admit defeat to Ethan Westera ARU in the Medal Race. Rick Peacock GBR is the new Musto Skiff World Champion. Andy Tarboton RSA was 2nd, 5 points behind, Alexander Greil SUI was 12th and Pierre-Yves Pfirter SUI followed in 18th place out of the 44 competitors. All rankings and the final report.
