ILCA - Australian & Oceania Championship - Botany Bay AUS - Day 1

The Oceania Laser Championship began yesterday with two races. In the ILCA 7 Olympic gold has been firmly in Australian hands for 16 years, but after the start day Elliot Hanson GBR is in the lead, with Olympic winner Matthew Wearns AUS following 2 points behind. There are 41 competitors from 5 nations at the start. In the ILCA 6 (81 participants/8 nations) Mara Stransky AUS won both races of her group. Maria Erdi HUN and Emma Plaesschart BEL are the first runners-up. Maud Jayet SUI is also close, 4 points behind in 5th place, Anja Von Allmen SUI is a good 11th. In the ILCA 4 Aidan Simmons AUS took the lead. Today's races are already underway and the results should be posted on the Event Website later this morning.
