Olympic Test Event - Marseille FRA - Day 7

Yesterday, the Medal Races of the ILCA 6 & 7 and the 470 were on the programme. Marit Bouwmeester NED was the overall winner in ILCA 6 before, Anne-Marie Rindom DEN and Chiara Benini ITA were second and third, Maud Jayet SUI was excellent fourth. In ILCA 7, Matthew Wearn AUS won the Medal Race to knock Michael Beckett GBR off first place. Bronze went to Pavlos Kontides CYP. In the 470, Camille Lecointre/Jérémy Mion FRA won the third gold medal for France at this test event. Thanks to victory in the Medal Race, Malte and Anastasiya Winkel GER moved up to second place, Jordi Xammar/Nora Brugman ESP took bronze. In the 49er, Bart Lambriex/Florian Van de Werken NED are already the overall winners with a 21-point lead before today's Medal Race. Erwan Fischer/Clément Péquin FRA are second, 11 points ahead of third place. The bronze medal will be hotly contested: Sime and Mihovil Fantela CRO are only 0.5 points ahead of Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI and one point ahead of Diego Botin/Florian Trittel ESP. In the 49erFX, the 16-point lead of the world champions Odile Van Aanholt/Anette Duetz NED should be enough for victory. Vilma Bobek/Rebecca Netzler SWE are still 6 points ahead of Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA in 2nd. With two race wins yesterday, Sinem Kurtbay/Akseli Lehtinen FIN have taken the lead in the Nacra 17. They go into the Medal Race with a 7-point lead, Gianluigi Ugolini/Maria Giubilai ITA (46 points), Paul Kohlhoff/Alica Stuhlemmer GER (49 points) and John Gimson/Anna Burnett GBR (51) will decide the other medals among themselves. There will be another French victory in the iQ-Foil windsurfers: Nicolas Goyard FRA is 28 points ahead of Nicolo Renna ITA. In 10th place, Elia Colombo SUI is also in the Medal Race.
