The joint World Championships of the ten Olympic classes start today in The Hague, where the first Olympic Nations starting places will be awarded. First up today are the 49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17 and Mixed 470. The fleets are appropriately top seeded, and unlike the Olympic regattas, multiple competitors per nation are allowed - all entry lists. The official-preview presents the favourites per class. For Switzerland, Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI and Joshua Richner/Nilo Schärer SUI will start today in the 49er, Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI, Linda Fahrni/Cyril Schüpbach SUI in the 470 and Axel Grandjean/Noëmi Fehlmann SUI and Andrea Aschieri/Anja Camusso SUI in the Nacra 17. For an Olympic starting place, qualification for the Medal Race is mandatory in these three classes. The preview of the Swiss Team. Medium winds around 14kn are expected to dominate the action today. The races can be followed live via GPS-Tracking today from 11h CET, for the final races live TV coverage is also planned, which we will of course show on our page as always.
