With the Medal Races of the ILCAs, the joint World Championships of all Olympic classes came to an end in The Hague yesterday. Calm winds and tidal currents made for difficult conditions. ----- In a thrilling race, Maud Jayet SUI in ILCA 6 missed the big coup after taking a penalty turn for pumping, but secured the Vice World Champion title as last year. Gold went to Maria Erdi HUN, and behind Jayet SUI, the Olympic winner Anne-Marie Rincom DEN took the bronze medal. ----- In the men's event, Matthew Wearn AUS was the early winner, with silver and bronze going to Michael Beckett GBR and George Gautrey NZL. ----- The rankings and the daily-report.
