49er, 49erFX - World Championship 2024 - Lanzarote ESP - Final results

The Olympic Skiff World Championship came to an end yesterday with a final qualification regatta and the Medal Races. After a windy week, there were moderate winds of around 12 knots at the end. ----- The order on the podium did not change: Erwan Fischer/Clément Péquin FRA in the 49ers were outstanding and were already crowned the new world champions before the medal race after another race win. Bart Lambriex/Floris Van de Werken NED took silver. Diego Boton/Florian Trittel ESP finished 3rd, while Sébastien Schneiter/Arno de Planta improved to 6th place with a 3rd place in the Medal Race. Joshua Richner/Nilo Schärer SUI finished the World Championships in 46th place of the 70 teams - the 49er ranking. ----- In the women's event, Odile Van Aanholt/Annette Duetz NED regained the World Championship title, which they lost to Vilma Bobeck/Rebecca Netzler SWE last year.
