Olympic Worldcup 2016 - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - Day 4

As forecast, the breeze frehened up to 20 kn during the day, and the last qualification races before today's Medal Race brought some modifications in the general rankings. Two overall winners - 49ers and 470 open - are already known, as they cannot be overtaken in the last heats today.
Once more, Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL dominated the 49ers and their advance on the 2nd-ranked is 46 points ! William Philipps/Sam Philipps AUS and Jonas Warrer/Christian Lübeck DEN 2 points behind will duel for Silver and Bronze today. In the 49ersFX, the surprise team Lisa Ericson/Hanna Klinga SWE tied with Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA on top will fight for the final win.
With a 19 points' lead, Sime Fantela/Igor Marenic CRO are thru in the 470 men. Belcher/Ryan AUS, Dahlberg/Bergström SWE and Calabrese/De la Fuente ARG separated by 4 points only will fight for 2nd and 3rd. Exciting is the situation in the 470 women where the new leaders Camille Lecointre/Hélène Defrance FRA are only one point ahead of Hannah Mills/Saskia Clarke GBR. Another 3 points back are Fernanda Oliveira/Ana Luiza Barbachan BRA with chances for victory.
With a race win, Jake Lilley AUS is now the clear leader in the Finns with a 7 points' advance on the first challenger. The ranks 2 (Anders Pedersen NOR) to 5 (Oliver Tweddell AUS) are separated by 4 points only. In the Nacra 17, Billy Besson/Marie Riou FRA have to accept the first defeat for a long time. As 6th, the have no chance to climb on rank 1, occupied for the moment by Ben Saxton/Nicolas Groves GBR and Vittorio Bissaro/Silvia Sicouri ITA at equal points. Echevarri/Pacheco ESP as 3rd are only 2 points behind.
Change on rank 1 in the RS:X men windsurfers where Piotr Myszka POL and Pawel Tarnowski POL will fight for victory. Nick Dempsey GBR follows on rank 3. The first in the RS:X women windsurfers Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL is 6 points in front of Bryony Shaw GBR.
