Olympic Worldcup - Enoshima JPN - Day 6 - Mollerus/MacDiarmid USA finish 8th in 49ers - Ramsey CAN and Muller USA in Finns, Brugman/Brugman USA in 470w Medal Races tomorrow

 Olympic Worldcup - Enoshima JPN - Day 6 - Mollerus/MacDiarmid USA finish 8th in 49ers - Ramsey CAN and Muller USA in Finns, Brugman/Brugman USA in 470w Medal Races tomorrow Five Medal Races for the speed classes and windsurfers as well as the last qualification fleetraces for the other classes were concluded today Saturday. ----- Andrew Mollerus/Ian MacDiarmid USA finished as remarkable 4th in the 49er Medal Race and moved up on rank 8 overall. The USA Sailing Team was not represented in the other four events. ----- Atlantic Brugman/Nora Brugman USA defended rank 10 in the 470 women and are qualified for the Medal Race of tomorrow Sunday. Tom Ramshaw CAN as 7th and Luke Muller USA as 10th in the Finns qualified also. Caleb Paine USA on rank 11 however missed the top-10 cut and for him and all other North American competitors, the Enoshima Worldcup event is over. ----- Have a look on the updated overview of all North American competitors and the US Sailing Team Report. --------------------------------------------- The top ranks in the Medal Race events are as follows: ----- In the RS:X women, Yunxiu Lu CHN clearly won ahead of Katy Spychakov ISR. ----- Surprise in the RS:X men where Louis Giard FRA winning the race climbed from 3rd to 1st ahead of Kun BI CHN. ----- Bad luck for the leading Tim Fischer/Fabian Graf GER in the 49ers capsizing in the final downwind and loosing the title to James Peters/Fynn Sterrott GBR up from 5th to 1st. ----- Jump from 5th to 1st also in the Nacra-17 with Quentin Delapierre/Manon Audinet FRA as winners ahead of Ben Saxton/Nicola Boniface GBR. ----- The top ranked competitiors in the five classes sailing the Medal Races tomorrow are: ----- Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS 1st with a 16 point lead on Xammar/Rodriguez ESP in the 470 men. ----- Mia Jerwood/Monique De Vries AUS climbed on top of the 470 women ahead of Silvia Mas/Patricia Cantero ESP. ----- Premature Gold for Pavlos Kontides CYP in the Lasers Standard with a 21 point lead on Matthew Wearn AUS. The long-time second Tonci Stipanovic CRO dived on rank 8. ----- In the Lasers Radial, Emma Plaesschart BEL remained on 1st but Anne-Marie Rindom DEN reduced the backlog on 3 points. ----- Premature Gold also for Nicholas Heiner NED in the Finn 25 points ahead of Josip Olujic CRO. ----- After some postponements, racing took place in Enoshima today in a good 15-20kn seabreeze. ----- All ranking lists and the report of the day. ----- We shall livestream the Medal Races of Sunday on www.sailing-news.com.

 Breaking News - Noon Update - Olympic Worldcup - Enoshima JPN - Day 5, stormy weather, Mollerus/MacDiarmid USA 49er qualified for Medal Race Another stormy day with winds exceeding 25kn and big waves impacting the program yesterday with the 49ers completing one race only and the 49ersFX and Nacra-17 remaining ashore .... ----- Surviving the 49er race on rank 10 - one third of the fleet did not finish - Andrew Mollerus/Ian MacDiarmid USA defended rank 9 overall and will participate in the Medal Race tomorrow. The 49erFX and Nacra-17 did not go afloat at all ..... Together with the RS:X windsurfers, these three classes will sail the Medal Races today without North American competitors. ------ Fighting for a Medal Race slot in the last qualification races tomorrow will be Atlantic Brugman/Nora Brugman USA on 10th in the 470 women. The Finn sailors Tom Ramshaw CAN down on 6th, Luke Muller USA on 8th and even Caleb Paine USA on 12th 9 points behind the cut will also endeavour to make the Medal Race on Sunday. Stu McNay/Dave Hughes USA on rank 14 in the 470 men are probably to far away from the top-10 with a deficit of 20 points. No major changes occurred in the other NorAm rankings. Pierre Le Coq FRA leads head of Kun Bi CHN. ----- The only race of the 49ers was won by Benjamin Bildstein/David Hussl AUT advancing on rank 3. Tim Fischer/Fabian Graf GER remain on top. ----- All other classes will sail the last fleetraces tomorrow. ----- Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS extended their lead in the 470 men on Xammar/Rodriguez ESP to 14 points. ----- Elena Berta/Bianca Caruso ITA are first in the 470 women, one point ahead of Mia Jerwood/Monique De Vries AUS. ----- The Lasers Standard completing two races have still Pavlos Kontides CYP as clear leader ahead of Tonci Stipanovic CRO and Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA. ----- In the Lasers Radial also with two races today, Emma Plaesschart BEL extended her lead on 10 points. Anne-Marie Rindom DEN follows on 2nd. ----- Nicholas Heiner NED increased his lead in the Finns with two race wins on 14 points.  Olympic Worldcup - Enoshima JPN - Day 3, 20-25kn wind and big waves today thursday  in Japan 20-25kn wind and big waves on the third day of Japan's Worldcup. All classes were able to sail 3 races each which brought big changes at the top. ----- The North American Finn sailors were shining with Tom Ramshaw CAN new on rank 2 and Luke Muller USA still on 6th. Up in the top ten are now Andrew Mollerus/Ian MacDiarmid USA in the 49ers. No major changes occurred in the other NorAm rankings. Please have a look on the overview of all North American teams/sailors and the US Sailing Team Report. ----------------------------- The top ranks in all events are as follows: ----- In the 470, the Australians took over: Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS (today 1/1/2) lead the men, Mia Jerwood/Monique De Vries AUS (today 4/2/2) took rank 1 in the women 470. ----- In the 49ers, Tim Fischer/Fabian Graf GER moved on top 9 points ahead of Buksak/Wierzbicki POL. ----- After a capsize festival in the 49ersFX, only 5 teams finished the last race of the day within the time limit. New at the top are Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED. 8 points behind follow Julie Bossard/Aude Compan FRA on rank 2. ----- In the Finns, Nicholas Heiner NED is new on 1st with Tom Rawshaw CAN and Ioannis Mitakis GRE as first pursuers. ----- In the Nacra 17, the motto was to foil or not to foil ..... in order to avoid capsizing ! New at the top are Ben Saxton/Nicola Boniface GBR, Jason Waterhouse/Lisa Darmanin AUS and Nathan and Haylee Outteridge AUS follow with equal points in 2nd and 3rd place. ----- In the Lasers, the World Champion Pavlos Kontides CYP climbed on top ahead of Tonci Stipanovic CRO and Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA. ----- In the Laser Radial, Emma Plaesschart BEL succeeded to reclaim rank 1 ahead of Anne-Marie Rindom DEN and Manami Doi JPN on 2nd and 3rd. ----- Louis Giard FRA continues to lead the men's RS:X windsurfers ahead of Pierre Le Coq FRA and Kun Bi CHN. ----- Yunxiu Lu CHN extended her lead with bullets to 11 points.  Olympic Worldcup 2019/20 - Act 1 - Enoshima JPN - Day 3, racing underway in a fresh 20kn breeze After the reduced program due to stormy winds yesterday, racing is underway this morning in Enoshima JPN still in a fresh 20kn wind, to decrease during the afternoon. At Press deadline this morning UTC, most classes had completed at least one race with the big-breeze specialists on the first ranks. ----- The best North American interim ranks are in the Finns Tom Ramshaw CAN 5th and Luke Muller USA 7th, and in the Lasers Radial Erika Reineke USA 7th. ----- Racing can be followed over GPS tracking, on the ranking lists and the updated results of all North American teams/sailors.  Olympic Worldcup 2019/20 - Act 1 - Enoshima JPN - Day 1, Ramshaw CAN 5th Finn only NorAm top-10 The only top-10 finish of North American sailors on day one of the Enoshima Worldcup Regatta came from Tom Ramshaw CAN as 5th in the only Finn race. Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA as 10th in the 49ers/FX, Caleb Paine USA 11th and Luke Muller USA as 13th in the Finns, Carmen Cowles/Emma Cowles USA as 12th in the 470 women and Charlie Buckingham USA as 13th in the Lasers Standard delivered top-15 results. ----- The light wind impacted the program and not all classes could complete the planned program. ----- Please find here the updated results of all North American teams/sailors and the US Sailing Team Report. ---------------- Hereafter the top ranks of all events: ----- In the only race of the 470 men, Snow-Hanson/Wilcox NZL finished 1st ahead of Doi/Kimura JPN. ----- Hayashi/Nishidai JPN were the winners in the 470 women race in front of Mas-Depares/Cantero ESP and Wanser/Wanser GER. ----- Three races were held in the 49ers with Buksach/Wierzbicki POL and Fischer/Graf GER sharing the lead. ----- The 49erFX with two races have Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA on top ahead of Kimberly Lim/Cecilia Low SGP and Carla and Marta Munte-Carrasco ESP. ----- Josijp Oluijc CRO won the only race of the Finns ahead of Nicholas Heiner NED. ----- In the Nacras 17, the leaders after two races are Ben Saxton/Nicole Boniface GBR followed by Nathan and Haylee Outteridge AUS on 2nd. ----- Two races were completed in the Laser Standard with Tonci Stipanovic CRO in the lead ahead of Pavlos Kontides CYP and Nick Thompson GBR. -----In the Lasers Radial, Manmi Doi JPN is on rank 1 after two races ahead of Emma Plaesschart BEL. ------ First in the RS:X men windsurfers after 3 races is Angel Granda ESP ahead of Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI. ----- In the RS:X women, Peina Chen CHN is first in front of Wai Yan Nguai HKG and Yunxiu Lu CHN. ----- All ranking lists and the report.

 Olympic Worldcup 2019/2020 - Act 1 - Enoshima JPN - Day 1, 48 nations including the North Americans present, first races today underway After the Olympic Test Event of Enoshima JPN terminated a week ago, the Olympic Classes will start to Act one of the 2019/20 Worldcup at the same venue today with 496 sailors from 48 nations, including North American teams with all Olympic candidates. Here the official preview. ----- In the Finns, the Asian nations, above all China and new Iran, will fight for an Olympic Nation berth. ----- Racing is underway this morning UTC already and can be followed over GPS-Tracking. ----- The wind forecast for today predicted light winds. The results will be available around noon. We shall inform with a special news flash as soon as information is available.
