Two races were held yesterday to conclude the Qualification Series for the Gold- and Silverfleets, again in perfect sailing conditions with sun and a fresh wind.
Matthew Wearn AUS added another two race wins in his group on his results' sheet in the Lasers Standard, but Sam Meech NZL remains in touch only one point behind on rank 2. Andrew McKenzie NZL on 3rd completes the downunder leader trio. The best European is Pavlos Kontides CYP on rank 4. Philipp Buhl GER moved up on the 5th place with a race win. Out of the top is the Olympic Champion Tom Burton AUS on rank 37, who produced two premature starts, and one of them remains in the overall results. Charlie Buckingham USA is 9th. Chris Barnard USA however had a bad day and dropped on rank 43. Robert Davis CAN is 38th, both making the Goldfleet.
Winning 5 of the 6 races sailed, Maxime Jonker NED defended her lead in the Radial women 5 points ahead of Marit Bouwmeester NED an. Emma Plaeschart BEL is new on rank 3. Impressive performance by the USA team with Paige Railey on 4th, Erika Reineke on 8th and Haddon Hughes on 11th. Isabella Bertold CAN is 23rd.
In the Radials men, Nik Pletikos SLO is still on top one point ahead of Federico Tocchi ITA. Marcin Rudawski POL moved up on rank 3.
