49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17 - European Championship 2021 - Thessaloniki GRE - Day 1

The European Championships of the three Olympic speed classes began yesterday in Thessaloniki with three races in moderate winds. In the 49er the only Olympic team from the Tokyo Games Lukas Przybytek/Pawel Kolodzinski POL already took a clear lead. Mikolaj Staniul/Kuba Sztorch POL and Erwan Fischer/Clément Péquin FRA are tied for second and third place. The two Swiss teams also started well, Joshua Richner/Milo Schärer SUI even managed a heat win, they are now 15th of the 61 teams. Maxime Bachelin/Arno De Planta SUI are even better off in 13th place. In the 49erFX Antonia and Viktoria Schultheis MLT won all 3 races, they are already 10 points ahead of Manu Scheel/Freya Feilcke GER. They are followed by Lara Granier/Marine Riou FRA in third place. In the Nacra 17, Olympic silver medallists John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR are already well ahead. Titouan Petard/Lou Berthomieu FRA and Gianluigi Ugolini/Maria Giubilei ITA are the first pursuers.
