World Sailing Youth World Championship 2022 - Den Haag NED - Day 3

Wednesday, July 13, 2022
Yesterday, too, there were only lieght winds at the Junior World Championships, and numerous races had to be postponed. ----- The iQ-Foil windsurfers have only sailed on the start day so far ! ----- At least one race was sailed by the Nacra 15: Thanks to a race win, Axel Grandjean/Noƫmi Fehlmann SUI moved up in points to the still leading Daniel and Nora Garcia de la Casa ESP. The Spanish Optimist newcomers have only been sailing together for a few weeks, but benefited from their weight advantage (-20kg over the competition!) in the light winds so far. ----- The 420s were the only class to sail a full program with 2 races. Amelie Wehrle/Amelie Rinn GER extended their lead in the women's ranking to 8 points with another race win. Camilla Michelini/Margherita Bonifacio ITA are now in second place. In the men's fleet, Marc Mesquida/Ramon Jaume ESP took the lead, Roy Levy/Ariel Gal ISR follow 5 points behind in second. Theo Elbel/Liam Kuster SUI remained in 19th place. ----- In the 29ers, at least the men were able to sail a race. George Lee/Seb Menzies NZL reduced their deficit to 8 points as the day's winners, Maximo Videla/Tadeo Funes ARG continue to lead. Stach Vleeshowers/Meyssan Tazi SUI are now 22. ----- The Kiteboard Men also managed to finish one race. Lightweight Riccardo Pianosi ITA won again, Maximilian Maeder SGP on the other hand had trouble keeping his board foiling. ----- All the other classes had to take a break, but today the forecast is for fresher winds around 15kn, so the rankings are likely to change tomorrow ! All rankings and the daily report.
